hemly Bulletin Nº 001 · April 2026

Shopify B2B is missing four things indie fashion brands need.

I'm building them. Quoting workflow. Self-service buyer registration with approval rules. Prepacks with MOQ enforcement. A branded buyer portal where your accounts log in, see their pricing, and place orders themselves.

Nº 01 — The Build

What I'm shipping

01.

A quote workflow that becomes a Shopify draft order in one click.

Buyer requests pricing on a custom selection. You build the quote in your admin. They approve. It converts to a Shopify draft order, ready to fulfill. No more line-sheet PDFs over email.

02.

Self-service buyer registration with approval rules.

Public application form on your storefront. New buyers fill it out. You set the rules, auto-approve if their store URL matches a known retailer, manual review otherwise. They get a magic link to your buyer portal. You don't touch anything unless you want to.

03.

Prepacks and size runs that respect MOQs.

Build reusable size-run templates, 1S / 2M / 2L / 1XL, with minimum-order-quantity enforcement at the prepack level. Buyers order in prepacks; the system expands to individual variants on conversion. Fashion-aware out of the box.

A note from Kyle

It's Friday night. You're emailing line sheets back and forth.

A retailer wants 240 units in a specific size run. Another wants prepacks. A third wants Net-30 with a credit limit you haven't set up. None of this is in Shopify. None of this is in any tool you can set up in less than two weeks. So you're doing it in a spreadsheet. Again.

I spent years in fashion wholesale manufacturing, production side, inventory management. I've seen the complexity from the other side: the SKU/size/color matrix, the retailer-specific size-run mixes, the MOQ math. So I know what looks like chaos from the brand side is actually a system. It just needs the right tool.

The tools you have right now are either kitchen-sink platforms that take three weeks to set up and inject code that breaks your theme, or Shopify's native B2B (which got a lot better on April 2; catalogs and pricing are genuinely solid now), but it doesn't quote, doesn't let buyers register themselves, and doesn't know what a prepack is.

I'm building the missing pieces. If this is the part of your week you dread, reserve a spot for $25. It's refundable, redeems against your first month, and tells me whether to keep going.

Nº 04 — Frequently Asked

Before you reserve

What is the $25 for?
It's a refundable deposit that reserves your spot and redeems against your first month. If I don't ship v1 within 180 days, you get a full automatic refund. If you change your mind for any reason, email me and I'll refund you within 24 hours.
When does v1 launch?
Target: roughly 16 weeks from when 12 founding merchants reserve their spots. Realistic estimate, not optimistic. You'll get progress emails along the way.
What if I'm on Shopify Plus?
Hemly is built for Basic, Grow, and Advanced. If you're on Plus, you have native B2B features that already cover a lot of what I'm building. Reserve anyway if you want, refunded if it's not the right fit.
Is this another app that injects code into my theme?
No. App extensions and app proxy only. Your theme is never touched. This is a hard rule, not a goal.
Who's building this?
Kyle. I worked in fashion wholesale manufacturing before this, production side, inventory management. Email me directly at [email protected], I read every message.
What happens to my $25 if you decide not to ship?
Full automatic refund. The deposit is held in Stripe; if I don't ship within 180 days or decide to abandon the project, refunds happen within 7 days, no action required from you.
Why $25 and not free?
Free signups overstate demand. The deposit lets me know who's actually serious before I write 16 weeks of code. It's the smallest amount that filters tire-kickers without blocking real interest.
